Clearly designed for gigging bassists, this impressive four-string features soapbar single coil pickups and active electronics which means it can effortlessly take on any style. The neck-through design combines with a 5-piece, graphite-reinforced neck, boosting the sustain and stability, while the upper horn of the body is longer than usual too, resulting in a properly balanced bass that doesn't suffer from neck dive.

Caramelised Jatoba Fretboard With Compound Radius

Jackson has been finishing their guitars and basses with a compound radius for years. The gradual flattening of the fretboard as you navigate towards the highest frets significantly boosts the playability, since there's less friction compared to the round shape of more traditional fretboards. With a compound radius fretboard, it's easier to bend the strings better and pull off more technical parts. In this case, the jatoba fretboard has also been caramelised, which means that excess moisture has been removed from the wood for enhanced stability. Some would say it looks better too.

Wide-Ranging Nordstrand Pickups

Armed with a pair of Nordstrand Big Break single-coils and an active preamp that sets you up with three-band EQ controls, a blend pot and a 3-way mid-range frequency selector switch, the SBFM IV Spectra Bass is easy to steer into any stylistic direction.
